Troy Gregory
President / CEO
As President and CEO of Hunt Electric, Inc., Troy Gregory
leads with a forward-thinking approach that has been instrumental in the
company’s success. With a decade and a half at the helm, Troy continues to
guide Hunt Electric, which is celebrating 40 years in the industry and has a
workforce now exceeding 750 employees. His strategic vision has been key in
managing the company’s expansion, building a strong executive team, and
implementing scalable processes that reflect Hunt Electric’s core values of quality,
integrity, performance, and versatility.
Troy’s deep understanding of the company and industry is rooted in his hands-on experience. He began his career as an apprentice electrician, joining Hunt Electric as a project manager and advancing to President/CEO. Troy has served as both President and CEO since 2010/2022. In the industry, he has served on the AGC board, both locally and nationally.
Known for his ability to identify and nurture top talent, Troy excels in developing high-performance teams through effective coaching and mentorship. His leadership has been crucial in aligning the company’s growth with its core values and sustaining its long-term success.
Outside of his professional life, Troy’s passion for challenges and personal growth fuels his enthusiasm for hunting, backpacking, fishing, CrossFit, and travel. He, his wife Kelly, and their five children embody an active lifestyle, balancing hard work and outdoor adventures.
Matthew Royall
CFO
Matt Royall has served as the Chief Financial Officer at
Hunt Electric since 2018, bringing nearly two decades of construction and
finance experience to the company. Since joining Hunt in 2015, he has guided
the organization through strategic growth while overseeing financial stability,
risk management, legal oversight, and information systems.
Matt is recognized for his ability to connect financial
strategy with operational execution. He emphasizes a culture where every
decision is considered through a financial lens, ensuring projects are
profitable, sustainable, and strategically aligned. His expertise extends
across construction finance, joint ventures, renewables, and large-scale
project planning, positioning Hunt as a trusted partner for complex and
innovative projects.
Outside of work, Matt prioritizes faith and family, spending
time with his wife, five children, and three grandchildren. An avid cyclist and
traveler, he enjoys exploring new cultures and experiences with his family,
reflecting the same dedication and energy he brings to his leadership role at
Hunt Electric.
Nate Otterson
VP of Electrical Construction
Nate Otterson, Vice President of Electrical Construction, oversees
electrical operations across Hunt’s four branch locations. Nate’s career in the
electrical industry began as an apprentice, and after earning a degree in
Electrical Technology, he moved to Denver to focus on commercial construction.
In 2015, he helped launch Hunt’s Colorado branch as one of the founding team
members and played a central role in growing the office from a small service
shop into a full-scale commercial operation. Nate began serving as Colorado
Branch President before stepping into the company-wide VP role in 2023.
Known for building teams rooted in trust and accountability,
Nate brings a steady, strategic approach to scaling operations and supporting
division managers. He guides business planning, work procurement, execution,
and safety across Salt Lake City, Denver, Boise, and St. George—shifting from
direct people management to empowering experienced leaders and focusing on
organizational growth. Nate’s long-term involvement with industry
organizations, including the AGC of Colorado Board of Directors and more than
15 years with the Construction Industry Training Council (CITC), where he
served as president, reflects his commitment to workforce development and
industry excellence.
Outside of Hunt, life revolves around family. Nate and his
wife are raising two boys, and much of his free time is spent at the rink or on
the field coaching youth hockey and football. These moments—teaching,
encouraging, and building confidence—mirror his approach at work: helping
people grow and succeed while enjoying the journey along the way.
Darrin Guevara
VP of Specialty Business Units
As Vice President of Specialty Business Units, Darrin
Guevara has spent over two decades at Hunt Electric, advancing technology and
specialty services across the company. He began his career in low-voltage,
working hands-on with security, structured cabling, and communications before
helping launch Hunt’s Technology Division. Under Darrin’s leadership, the
division grew into a full-service operation, delivering structured cabling,
DAS, AV, and technology solutions across healthcare, transportation,
commercial, and other major sectors.
Today, Darrin oversees multiple specialty business units,
with a primary focus on Hunt’s manufacturing division, Instrument Control
Center (ICC). Since taking leadership, he has turned ICC into a rapidly growing
operation. He brings deep expertise in guiding teams through growth and
transformation, balancing client needs, business strategy, and scalable
operations.
Across his career, Darrin has been instrumental in helping
Hunt Electric deliver on high-profile projects. His client-first mindset and
ability to anticipate industry shifts have positioned Hunt as a trusted partner
for complex, technology-driven, and innovative projects.
When he’s not at work, Darrin loves spending time with his
family, traveling together, and cheering on his daughter at the softball
field—reminders of why he’s so passionate about creating opportunities for
others to thrive both at work and at home.
Karen Powers
VP of Human Resources
Karen Powers brings over 25 years of human resources
leadership experience to her role as Vice President of Human Resources at Hunt
Electric. She joined the company in 2013, guiding the organization through a
decade of growth from 230 employees to a workforce of more than 700 across four
locations. In 2022, she was promoted to VP, where she leads the company’s HR
strategy, focusing on compliance, employee relations, benefits administration,
and talent acquisition.
At Hunt Electric, Karen is recognized for her open-door
leadership style and ability to balance employee advocacy with strategic
business needs. She has been instrumental in shaping policies and programs that
align with Hunt’s long-term growth strategy, ensuring that people, culture, and
compliance remain at the forefront as the company continues to scale up.
Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master's
degree in Human Resources from Utah State University, as well as SHRM-CP and
PHR certifications. Her cross-industry expertise and dedication to continuous
improvement position Hunt Electric for success in an evolving workforce
landscape.
Outside of work, Karen loves time with her family—especially
her six grandchildren. She and her husband enjoy camping, golfing, and
exploring new places together.
Cody Eaton
VP of Operations & Workforce Development
As Vice President of Operations and Workforce Development, Cody
brings over two decades of hands-on electrical expertise and operational
leadership to Hunt Electric. Joining the company in 2002 as an apprentice, Cody
quickly advanced in the field, earning his Journeyman Electrician license and
taking on increasingly complex foreman and superintendent roles. He has led
high-profile projects that demonstrate both technical skill and strong
leadership.
In 2013, Cody transitioned into operations management,
helping to shape the company’s approach to workforce development, safety, and
productivity. Today, as VP of Operations & Workforce Development, he
oversees fleet, tools, shipping and receiving, safety, and Hunt Electric’s
Academy for the new generation of electricians. Cody holds leadership roles on
industry advisory boards, including the Planning and Advisory Committee for
Salt Lake Community College and the Apprenticeship Training Committee for WECA,
reflecting his dedication to the future of the electrical trade. His commitment
to workforce development has been recognized throughout the industry, earning
multiple awards from Apprenticeship Utah and the Department of Workforce
Services. Cody holds ten Master Electrician licenses across the Western US.
A third-generation electrician, Cody’s approach is rooted in
experience and empathy. He fosters a culture of accountability and
collaboration, supporting employees as they grow. Outside of work, Cody is an
avid traveler and national park enthusiast. He and his family find adventures all
over the globe.
Ibi Guevara
VP Business Development & Marketing
As Vice President of Business Development & Marketing,
Ibi has been instrumental in shaping Hunt Electric’s growth and reputation over
the past two decades. She built and now leads Hunt’s marketing team, directing
the company’s branding, strategy, and communication while driving business
development across all markets. Her leadership has been key in Hunt’s expansion
into St. George, Denver, and Boise, as well as in emerging sectors like
technology and mission-critical.
Known as a connector and strategist, Ibi is passionate about
aligning client goals with the right expertise to deliver results. Her
collaborative approach extends beyond Hunt into the community through her work
with organizations like the Utah Alliance for Economic Development and the
Urban Land Institute (ULI Utah), where she served as District Council Chair and
launched initiatives in leadership, mentorship, and diversity.
Her contributions have earned recognition from Utah Business Magazine, the Salt Lake Chamber, SMPS Utah, and other industry groups. Ibi holds an MBA in Business Administration and Marketing as well as a Law Degree, and she is fluent in Romanian and Hungarian. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, camping, and boating with her family, and cheering on her daughter on the softball field. A lifelong traveler, she loves exploring new destinations and cultures with her family.
Tony Hendrickson
Executive Division Manager
Sam Davis
Executive Division Manager
Sam Davis brings over 30 years of electrical experience and
two decades with Hunt Electric to his role as Executive Division Manager,
focusing on the mission-critical sector. A licensed electrician since the early
stages of his career, Sam began in residential construction before moving into
large-scale commercial projects. Since joining Hunt in 2005, he has advanced
through every level of leadership: Foreman, Project Manager, Senior Project
Manager, Division Manager, and now Executive Division Manager of Electrical.
Over the years, Sam has developed a reputation as Hunt’s
“technical project expert,” trusted to lead some of the company’s most complex
and high-profile work. His project portfolio is defined by Hunt’s milestone
projects, sharpening his expertise and setting the stage for the company’s
successful entry into new markets.
Appointed as an Executive Division Manager of Electrical in
2022, Sam now provides strategic oversight across Hunt’s electrical operations,
guiding teams in delivering innovative, reliable, and large-scale electrical
solutions. His leadership continues to shape Hunt’s capabilities in markets
ranging from commercial high-rises to mission-critical facilities, ensuring the
company remains a trusted partner for clients with complex electrical needs.
When he’s not at Hunt, Sam keeps busy working out, tinkering
with projects, and taking on challenges that feed his curiosity and
creativity.
